§ 103. Livestock shows.

  • (a)

    The Police Jury of Rapides Parish is hereby authorized to acquire any land or lands to be used in holding and conducting annual livestock shows at Alexandria for the purpose of aiding, encouraging and fostering the development, production and marketing of livestock in Louisiana.

    (b)

    The sum of seventy-five thousand and no/100 dollars ($75,000.00) for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1950 and ending June 30, 1951, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of the general fund to be expended by said police jury solely for the construction or erection of buildings and the procurement of facilities on the lands acquired under section 1 of this act [subsection (a) hereof], required for the annual livestock shows and exhibitions.

    (c)

    It shall be the duty of the Police Jury of Rapides Parish and it is hereby authorized to maintain the buildings and facilities on the lands acquired under the provisions of this act [section] to maintain any other buildings, facilities and improvements on said lands used for the annual exhibitions or shows.
